Custom Rectangular Envelope Seat Box Cushion Down/Feather. Enter the Dimensions below and select the combination of Down/Feather for the Cushion. The seat cushion is channeled to prevent the down and feathers from moving, and the foam is enclosed in the middle in a zippered compartment . It is filled to provide a comfortable rear support and let the bottom sink a little into the cushion when a person sits on it. The foam core serves 2 purposes: 1) The foam gives the cushion added support that down and feather can not provide in a limited thickness. For example a 4" thick down and feather cushion (with no foam) will bottom out with when most heavy people sit on it. A foam core will help prevent the person from feeling the wood beneath the cushion. 2) The foam core spring back immediately and prevents the cushion from having a wrinkled look. This will help with the maintenance.
Note: Enter the finish size of the cushion cover, we will add necessary amount for compression. Remember down & feather envelopes bulge upward (they are not flat, they have a "crown") so we will add a few inches to your size to allow for that. If you are having new covers made for your sofa make sure they add at least 1 to 2 inches for the crown. Unless you change the foam core we will use a 2115 foam which is a medium firmness, high density foam. Call us if you need info.
Typically, for example a 5" thick (B) cushion with a 3" (C) foam will crown up to 8" in the center. We recommend using a foam 2" smaller than the total height of the side of the cushion. For example a 6" (B) cushion can use a 4" foam (C), and it will still crown up to about 9" top to bottom in the center. Call us if you need info.
We recommend you order FREE Swatches at swatch@cushionsxpress.com if you are going to order fabric covers with the cushions.Â
